Out Tonight

At 7 p.m. it was still as hot as it looks. This summer I've been all about silks, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Add suede platforms and something sparkly for good measure, and you're set. Who ever said black and white had to be boring?

J. Crew vintage cotton tee and necklace, Elizabeth and James skirt, Steve Madden platforms, bracelets by Prada and some place in Costa Rica selling stingray pieces, and rings from Security Jewelers. The lipstick is Garconne 25 by Guerlain.

Prairie Home Companion

The sun shines brightly where the mountains meet the plains. And summer seems in no hurry to leave. Thank you, Colorado, for the blinding lighting. I mostly love it.

Those Mountain Passes

One of the best things about living in Colorado is how absolutely gorgeous every drive through the state is. I road tripped up past Winter Park this weekend with one of my best friends, and the views were spectacular the entire way up. These photos were taken somewhere along Highway 40.

Wearing Elizabeth & James Fairfax sunglasses, American Apparel thermal and shorts, Rag & Bone Harrow booties, Tiffany's necklace, and Hermès tan leather bracelet.

Thanks for taking these, Kate!

A Little Rock & Roll

When summer isn't quite over, but fall is swiftly closing in, I love pairing long sleeves with shorts. I've had this plaid shirt forever, and gravitate towards it every time I'm in the mood for something red. It's a little bit country, a little rock & roll, and mostly just perfect.

William Rast shirt (similar), J Brand shorts, Minnetonka mocassins, Ray Ban Wayfarers, Louis Vuitton bracelet and Marc by Marc Jacobs necklace.

Power Dressing

I've been accused of wearing too much black more than once in my life, but nothing is more timeless, classic, and universally flattering. This particular dress has lightly padded shoulders and an ideal sleeve length, subtly adding a bit of edge and a bite of power to the dress. Business casual at its best, really.

Theory dress (similar J. Crew), Chanel pumps, Longchamp bag, Tiffany's heart necklace, pearls unknown, earrings from Security Jewelers.

The Animals

I'm bringing out all my animal prints on the blog this week, apparently. I love these pants! Perfect for playing with puppies.

Current/Elliott jeans, Inri t-shirt c/o Revolution Skate Shop, Tiffany's necklace, and Urban Outfitters sandals. If you ever need anything related to rollerblading, James and Gretch of Revolution Skate Shop are the best.

Have a great weekend!

When You're Twenty-One You Run To Your Girl

Falling fast for Isabel Marant, and always in love with Kerouac, who penned the title of this post in The Vanity of Duluoz

Vince leather jacket (similar), T by Alexander Wang shirt, J Brand shorts, and the Isabel Marant Jenny boot. So good.

Lost in My Mind

Currently, I'm listening to The Head and The Heart, which is just twangy enough to go with these boots. I like country that's not quite country, which basically means twangy, folksy, awesomeness. Lots of guitar and lots of easy, big voices and good harmonies to sing along to. Even though I sing along to everything, always.

Wearing an ancient Diesel jacket (similar), J. Crew vintage cotton tee, Current/Elliott legging jeans, Balenciaga bag, black leather bracelet from Nordstom (similar by Tory Burch), Louis Vuitton white leather bracelet, and Sam Edelman's "Petty" bootie, which Brittney at Nordstrom was awesome enough to track down for me during the Anniversary Sale.

These boots were tough to find; check out the twitter exchange here. Totally worth searching for, though. Get a pair while they're in stock, you won't regret it. Love them.

Heart Skipped a Beat

Nothing is new under the sun, including in this post.

Sunglasses and shoes from Urban Outfitters, J. Crew oversized shirt (similar), We the Free skirt, Links of London bracelet, and Balenciaga bag. Earrings and necklace from Security Jewelers

I swear I had all the grommets when I got dressed in the morning.

Endless Summer

Summer is still in full force in Denver, so I've been pulling my most ethereal pieces, as they seem only appropriate.

I had the honor of modeling these beautiful pieces of jewelry and this handbag made by rural artisans in Zambia, which are being sold to support Give Hope, Fight Poverty, an amazing organization designed to create sustainable programs and increased opportunity through academic achievement in Swaziland. Find more information on pricing and how to purchase these pieces here. For other inquiries, please contact co-founder and executive director Annie at anniefightspoverty@gmail.com
