Shopping Break

Before I moved, I took a break from packing to head to Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale.  I always have to listen to The Decemberists' Castaways and Cutouts album when July rolls arounds, partially for this song. Do you have any summer favorites in terms of music? 

Cutoffs and oversized tanks are perfect for the muggy days we keep having in Denver. This particular day also produced a spectacular lightening storm, followed by a torrential downpour. Luckily, I was inside for most of the downpour, but the lightening before was worth getting a bit wet for. Thunderstorms are my favorite in the summer.

Giraffe

Whenever we went to the zoo when I was little, the giraffe was always my favorite animal to see. I can't remember the last time I was at a zoo, but I think it's about time that I go see the giraffes again. What's your favorite animal?

The City of Roses

 Last weekend in Portland, Oregon, was wonderful, and exactly what I needed. Highlights included tons of fabulous food, including Voodoo Donuts, a waterfall, and the International Rose Test Garden, pictured here. Portland is the City of Roses, and they were almost all in bloom. Hooray for perfect timing! Thank you, Katie and Noah, for the photos, and the wonderful weekend!

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend, and a great Memorial Day. Thank you to our troops, and especially those who have given their lives in their service. I got back from Portland last night, and can't wait to post photos from my trip. It was such a fun weekend!
