I know I keep talking about snow, but it's just so pretty! Though I still need work on shooting photos in it. At least after all these winters I know how to dress for it.

At the Bottom of Everything

One of the best things about cold weather is how much freedom you have to accessorize. I generally subscribe to the "less is more" train of thought in terms of accessories, but when temperatures are in the teens or less, I pull out every winter accessory I own and start piling them on until a bearable level of warmth is reached. Here's to cold weather, and a whole lot of snow!

White Winter Hymnal

Velvet Touch

I mentioned my current obsession with velvet last week, and the faded coloring of this particular velvet top made it an instant favorite. Theyskens' Theory is definitely killing it. 

The top paired perfectly with my favorite new necklace by My Lola, a Denver company started by two gorgeous sisters, creating beautiful jewelry inspired by the mountains of Colorado and their travels around the world. The delicate black beading on the thin gold chain is exactly what I didn't know I had been looking for.

In the Golden Age We Will Never Die

I love these pants. When I bought them I thought they might feel too Christmas-y to wear much past December, but a month after the holiday I am still constantly pulling them out of my closet. And more and more prints/stripes/geometric shapes are taking over the denim on the racks, so these seem like they'll stick around for a bit. Though I may need to work on shrinking them.

Snow Bunny

These photos are from last weekend in the mountains, which I'm still savoring. There was skiing and an intro to some park skiing, a Breaking Bad marathon, Lincoln, more skiing, the best sushi of my life, even more skiing, awesome BBQ, and Zero Dark Thirty. More snow would have been the only thing that could have made it better, and I'm still holding out hope for that. 

Send all your snow to Eagle County, please! It's so much prettier blanketed in white. Summit County could use some, too.

Let This Be Our Little Secret

Having grown up pretty solidly in the 90s, I find myself embracing more and more of the resurgent trends from the era. I pulled my Doc Martens out of the closet last year, and am fairly certain they will find their way onto my feet again sometime soon. But the trend I am most excited about this season is velvet, everywhere. I still haven't found a pair of velvet pants I can't live without, but a recently acquired Theyskens Theory top will shortly be making a blog appearance, and I can't stop wearing this skirt. All I could think when I bought the skirt was that it was definitely Rumi Neely approved.

After a wonderful long weekend in the mountains, it's back to business as usual. These photos are from a cold spell that hit Denver last week, though it wasn't nearly as cold as it is in Minnesota and Wisconsin right now. I hope my Midwestern readers are staying warm!
