Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Today I'm heading back up to the mountains with my favorite boy for another day of skiing and a low-key New Year's Eve. Champagne and excellent scotch are sure to make for a fun night. I hope you have a safe and fantastic New Year's Eve!

Christmas Dressing

I promise this is the last post of things I wore on Christmas. The holiday season is just too fun! And dressing up for dinner only makes it better.

A Very Charlie Brown Christmas

While the hotel lobby had excellent decor, the family Christmas Tree was much more Charlie Brown friendly. Of course I dressed accordingly.

One More Sleep Till Christmas

Spending Christmas in a hotel is made significantly better by two things: my wonderful family, and excellent lobby decor.

It's a Wonderful Life!

 After some last minute shopping, baking, and packing, the weekend is finally here. Later today, I'm picking up a special someone from the airport whom I can't wait to see, and then tomorrow I'm off to Christmas with the family. Life certainly is wonderful at the moment! How are you spending the holiday if you celebrate it? I'd love to hear your plans!

On Outerwear

The best part about the right outerwear is how it has the ability to pull an entire outfit together, or to make the outfit, really. Because of this, and because of the fact that I've spent most of my life in Wisconsin and Minnesota, I've invested heavily in outerwear. This particular coat I bought at J. Crew years ago, and have continued to love every winter since. Double-breasted pieces have always been a favorite of mine, and the camel color made this coat far too pretty to pass up. I was living in Minneapolis at the time, and had reservations about the shortened sleeve length, but between long-sleeved layers and super warm mittens, it has never been a problem. 

And even after all these years, it still makes an oversized hoodie-tunic thing and leggings into an outfit.

Joyeux Noël

Something about this outfit feels very French, though there's nothing particularly French about it. Regardless, Joyeux Noël! I'm so excited for Christmas. 

I also want to send my love and prayers to the families of those people whose lives were tragically taken from them on Friday morning in connection with the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I'll be thinking of them this holiday season.

Christmas is Coming

With Christmas only eleven days away, and tons more to do before then, it's nice when those little things remind you of the season. For example: Starbucks' red cups. Especially when they coordinate perfectly with my green sweater to make these photos a bit more seasonally appropriate. And A Charlie Brown Christmas album, on repeat. It's my favorite.
