Enchanted Gardens

 One thing I'm going to miss most about Denver is all the beautiful gardens everywhere. Flowers don't grow quite as well in the desert, though at least there will be plenty of cactus. And now it's time to get back to more packing.

Coco Before Chanel

The other night I stayed up way too late watching Coco Before Chanel, which was definitely worth the tired eyes the next day. While the movie was sad at times, it was also very educational in terms of Mlle. Chanel's unique vision, and excellently showcased the stark contrast between the fashions of the day and those she produced. In other words, I loved it. Thus, the simplicity of this look. No one does black and white better than Coco Chanel.

Retrograde

Feeling pretty 80s in this outfit, and pretty ready to tackle the week after a pretty fabulous weekend. Everything is pretty today, apparently. It's best that way. Have a great day!

40 Day Dream

Even though I don't have to dress up most days, it's still really fun sometimes. Especially with dresses as easy as this one. Hooray for summer, and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros!

The Sun Also Rises

I bought this skirt when I was nineteen, which was far too many years ago, but not enough to make me love it any less. Its obvious bull-fighting capabilities make it best suited for Spain, but since I've never been, scorching hot days in the mile-high sunlight will have to do. For now, at least. I've read Hemingway's anthem of the lost generation too many times to not see the country for myself, someday. Until then.

It's All In The Lapels

The easiest way to dress up an otherwise simple outfit is to throw on a blazer. Nothing is as transformative to jeans and a tee, or as wearable in nearly any situation. The shiny lapels and loose, comfortable fit of this one has made it my go-to as of late. You can't go wrong with Elizabeth & James.

New Beat

If you've been following my blog for any period of time, you know by now that I love music. But every once in awhile I just need more. Something new, exciting, and perfect for the season. Now is one of those times. I've been loving the new Vampire Weekend single, but the rest of the album isn't out until May, and neither is the awesome collection of songs featured on "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack. What have you been listening to and loving lately? Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!

Date Night

I'm really hoping it starts to feel like this outside soon. Or that I get back to Arizona soon. Either would work. Date nights in the desert are definitely more fun to dress for than those in the freezing snow. There are so many more footwear options!
