Hot Hot Summer

 I took these photos in Denver before I moved, on what felt like a pretty hot day. I forgot how hot it gets in Phoenix though! I'm definitely going to continue living in floaty sundresses, probably into September. Happy Wednesday!

Enchanted Gardens

 One thing I'm going to miss most about Denver is all the beautiful gardens everywhere. Flowers don't grow quite as well in the desert, though at least there will be plenty of cactus. And now it's time to get back to more packing.

Mint Condition

While I am not generally one to wear a ton of color, mint has a been an obsession of mine this summer. Both the flavor and the color. I especially love it with pink, and am going to have to paint my nails pink the next time I wear this skirt. I love it with silver too though, thus the heels. Lighten Up

I'm loving this color palette so much right now. And have decided that I need at least one more pair of white pants. If not only for when I inevitably get these dirty and still want to wear white pants the rest of that day. Apparently the best things make you work for them, right?

Dear Annie

Dear Annie, 

I know that you're moving away to bigger and better things, like spending your summer in Swaziland with Give Hope, Fight Poverty, and the incredible kids you've come to love there, but I'm still going to miss you. Especially when you don't come back in the fall, and I can't call you to go running, and kick my butt at Red Rocks, or go see a sappy chic flick on a Friday night. And I'll miss your stories, and Tylie, and all the crazy, random things we've done. However, I'm grateful for the circumstances that brought us together, and those heartbreaks and late nights that made us even closer. Thank you for being beautiful, inside and out, and for making me laugh, always. Especially in these photos. And I can't wait to see you again, where ever that may be!

Giant

 I read Edna Ferber's Giant about a year ago, exploring the sprawling, oil rich lands of Texas with eyes as naive as those of the protagonist, Leslie. Other than the airport in Houston, I haven't actually been to the state. However, based on the oppressive heat permeating throughout the book, this outfit seems like the perfect thing to wear there in the summer. Coffee Break

Next time you're shopping, pick up a latte at Nordstrom's Ebar. They're amazing. Also, the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby was released yesterday, and will be on repeat on my ipod for the foreseeable future. Download it here. It's so so good.

It's All In The Lapels

The easiest way to dress up an otherwise simple outfit is to throw on a blazer. Nothing is as transformative to jeans and a tee, or as wearable in nearly any situation. The shiny lapels and loose, comfortable fit of this one has made it my go-to as of late. You can't go wrong with Elizabeth & James.

Yes, that is snow/hail in my hair, and no, I'm not happy about it. Ignoring the weather in my best grunge look seemed like thing to do.
