Independence Day

 This year's 4th of July involved plenty of water (both rivers and lakes), a stop at a flea market, amazing people, a spectacular fireworks display, and plenty of red, white, and blue. Check out the fireworks and my first ever attempt at paddle boarding here, not to mention my flea market finds of a cowboy hat and flag. This year's Independence Day celebration will definitely be tough to beat. Thanks to everyone who made it so much fun!

 Last weekend in Portland, Oregon, was wonderful, and exactly what I needed. Highlights included tons of fabulous food, including Voodoo Donuts, a waterfall, and the International Rose Test Garden, pictured here. Portland is the City of Roses, and they were almost all in bloom. Hooray for perfect timing! Thank you, Katie and Noah, for the photos, and the wonderful weekend!

Yeah Sapphire

Hooray for Friday, and a wonderfully long weekend! I'm off to Portland, Oregon to visit one of my very best friends of the past ten years, and I can't wait to get there. It's supposed to rain all weekend, but that hardly matters when you haven't seen someone in a year. Are you going away for the weekend? Or do you have any particularly fun plans? Give Hope, Fight Poverty: On Display

 On Sunday, my dear friend Annie Elble and I hung these Artisan Direct Products at a Starbucks in Denver located at 1050 E. Colfax Avenue. These beautiful pieces were purchased on her most recent trip to Swaziland, and all proceeds from the sale of these products go to benefit Give Hope, Fight Poverty, Annie's non-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering orphans and vulnerable children in Swaziland. I still haven't made it to Coachella, and likely won't this year, unless something crazy happens and I both make it to Indio, and find tickets for next weekend. Stranger things have occurred in my life, but I'm not betting on it. Some year though, I'll be there. Soon, because the line-up needs to be as good as it is this year. We took these photos after a quick stop at the Silverthorne Outlets on the way down the mountain last weekend. It looks like it's going to be another snowy one, which is great because I have a couple friends in from out of town, and Colorado needs to put on her best face for them. Bring on the snow! It's already blanketing Denver as I write this.
