We took these photos after a quick stop at the Silverthorne Outlets on the way down the mountain last weekend. It looks like it's going to be another snowy one, which is great because I have a couple friends in from out of town, and Colorado needs to put on her best face for them. Bring on the snow! It's already blanketing Denver as I write this.

The Flying Cup Club

Both this hat, and the band Beirut, particularly in February, remind me of the great white north that is Minnesota. The next time there's a chill in the air, and you're in the mood for something mellow, check them out. Their horn section is killer.

Cattle, Not Chattel

 Denver has a lot of random outdoor sculptures, which is kind of awesome, especially when they depict a cow and her calf. A Scottish Angus Cow, to be exact. Read more here.

At the Bottom of Everything

One of the best things about cold weather is how much freedom you have to accessorize. I generally subscribe to the "less is more" train of thought in terms of accessories, but when temperatures are in the teens or less, I pull out every winter accessory I own and start piling them on until a bearable level of warmth is reached. Here's to cold weather, and a whole lot of snow!

Joyeux Noël

Something about this outfit feels very French, though there's nothing particularly French about it. Regardless, Joyeux Noël! I'm so excited for Christmas. 

I also want to send my love and prayers to the families of those people whose lives were tragically taken from them on Friday morning in connection with the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I'll be thinking of them this holiday season.

 I spent the night at a friend's cabin in the mountains on Saturday night, and awoke to a gorgeous layer of powder on Sunday. I only wish I had had my skis with me.

Desert Dreams

Never underestimate a good desert scene. Also, it was freezing this past weekend in the Valley of the Sun. Or at least, it felt a lot more like Colorado and a lot less like the desert.
