Tucked In

When I was younger, I was quite adamantly opposed to tucking anything in. As I've grown older though, I've come to understand how much it can clean up an outfit, and create a waist where there wasn't one before. Raiding my mom's belt collection may have helped to spur this change in thought as well. It was so much more convenient than actually shopping for belts!

Love Is Blindness

The Great Gatsby, along with the entirety of this past weekend, were more than I could have hoped for. While there were no parties on sprawling lawns, there were oysters and crab legs, and afternoons by the pool, and just enough of a hint of summer to make it all seem magical. And now I can't wait for a repeat, with that special someone that made it all happen. How was your weekend? I'd love to hear about it in the comments! If you haven't had the chance yet, go see The Great Gatsby. There's a good shot you'll love it.

Snow Dog

After a gorgeous weekend in Denver, meteorologists are predicting thunder, lightening, and snow for today. Tuesday is bound to look like a winter wonderland. It seemed only appropriate to post these photos from Vail, in hopes that this is the last snowstorm of the season, at least in Denver.

Pretty Lights

Playing with night shots makes me want an external flash. Do any of you use them? Do you like them? I'd love to hear your thoughts! And can't wait to get back to some more desert nights in the oven that is Scottsdale.

Down To Business

When dressing in business casual, I often find myself gravitating towards the clean, fresh look of stark black and white. With the right accessories, it never feels boring, and instead has just the right air of sophistication. And generally speaking, pearls always do the trick. The sunny California sky helps, too.

Eat, Sleep, Drink, and Be In Love

I can think of no better figure to celebrate Black History Month with than Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Denver commemorates some pretty great people in its parks. If you haven't yet, check out Langston Hughes' "Theme for English B," read Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man, and watch Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

Give Me Your Eyes, I Need Sunshine

As I'm sure you've noticed, I love winter. Even more so since moving to Colorado, and the snow filled Rocky Mountains. However, those random sunny, sixty degree days that Denver gets mid-winter are still very much appreciated. Friday was one of them.

Blizzard Proof

Best idea ever for winter weather: the stand-alone hood, for those coats without.

Minnesota Girls

Unfortunately, I haven't been in Minnesota in quite awhile now, but something about this outfit feels very reminiscent of those winter days on campus, rushing to and fro across the Mississippi River with more books than anyone should carry at once. J. Crew and college co-eds go so well together.

Or maybe it's just my recent obsession with Communist Daughter, and this song.
