Best Car

This was the best car in the parking lot at the Timberline Lodge. Clearly, it warranted a photo shoot of its own.

Timberline Lodge

Built during the Great Depression as a Works Progress Administration project, the Timberline Lodge is a stunning piece of architecture, made from locally sourced wood and stone. The ski lifts directly adjacent to the building don't hurt, either. Sadly, I was unable to ski, though the lifts operate on weekends all summer, but I hope to be back again to ski Mt. Hood soon!

Red, White, & Blue

To all of my American readers, Happy Independence Day! I accidentally put on this very subtle red, white, and blue combo the other day, and decided to go with it. In part because everything else I own in that color combo is currently packed and ready for adventures in Idaho, of all places. And Oregon. And potentially elsewhere, though those specifics are yet to be determined. And with that, I'm off. Have a fabulous holiday weekend!

Let The Rain Fall Down

Denver, which normally doesn't get much rain, has been getting a ton this week. It's certainly a welcome change from the snow we had last week, but at the moment, the only thing I'm really craving is the sun. Necessarily, I'm on my way to the desert for the weekend. See you soon, Phoenix!

Eat, Sleep, Drink, and Be In Love

I can think of no better figure to celebrate Black History Month with than Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Denver commemorates some pretty great people in its parks. If you haven't yet, check out Langston Hughes' "Theme for English B," read Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man, and watch Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

So LA

Loving on my sponsor.

Dancing across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

Probably the coolest American Apparel location ever.

There are definitely worse ways to spend a day than playing tourist at the Hollywood Walk of Fame/Grauman's Chinese Theatre and in Malibu. California, you're always so pretty.

Bigger Than Love

Benjamin Gibbard, lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, has long held a special place in my heart, especially around the holiday season. I spent an entire December finals period listening to the thirty minute All-Time Quarterback album on repeat. Needless to say, I heard that side-project at least 40 times in that two week period.

Former Lives, Gibbard's first solo album, was released in October of this year. I meant to download it immediately, but life got in the way, as it tends to, and I forgot about it. Until last night. So now it's on repeat, the way I always listen to albums--straight through. And "Bigger Than Love" is pretty great.
