I can't believe it's August already! Also, can we talk about how great Joie's silks are? I may have this dress in two different colors. Check out the other one here. Happy Thursday!

Red, White, & Blue
To all of my American readers, Happy Independence Day! I accidentally put on this very subtle red, white, and blue combo the other day, and decided to go with it. In part because everything else I own in that color combo is currently packed and ready for adventures in Idaho, of all places. And Oregon. And potentially elsewhere, though those specifics are yet to be determined. And with that, I'm off. Have a fabulous holiday weekend!

Mine Is Yours
These photos are from last weekend in Arizona. It was far too hot for pants, even if they were coated denim and not leather, but we were going to a movie. That kind of made them ok. On another note, I've had the Cold War Kids album "Mine Is Yours" on repeat all week. So good.

Monumental
The Washington monument is under construction, as you can see from the photos, but Lincoln was wonderful in all of his glory. We also saw the WWII Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, and the Korean War Memorial. I love Washington, D.C.!

Giant
I read Edna Ferber's Giant about a year ago, exploring the sprawling, oil rich lands of Texas with eyes as naive as those of the protagonist, Leslie. Other than the airport in Houston, I haven't actually been to the state. However, based on the oppressive heat permeating throughout the book, this outfit seems like the perfect thing to wear there in the summer. And if you're in the mood for a good summer read, check it out here.

It's a Wonderful Life!
After some last minute shopping, baking, and packing, the weekend is finally here. Later today, I'm picking up a special someone from the airport whom I can't wait to see, and then tomorrow I'm off to Christmas with the family. Life certainly is wonderful at the moment! How are you spending the holiday if you celebrate it? I'd love to hear your plans!
Have a fabulous weekend, and a very Merry Christmas!!

Take it to the Bridge
These photos were taken in Canal Park in Duluth, Minnesota, with the iconic Ariel Lift Bridge in the background. It's such a gorgeous city!
Wearing Urban Outfitters sunglasses, a Theory top, Joie shorts, Halogen flats, and jewelry from Security Jewelers.
Duluth has always been one of my favorite places to visit. I've been going pretty regularly my whole life, and have come to think of it as a kind of home away from home. What's your favorite place to visit? I'd love to hear about it!
