The View From Frisco

 For all of its snow and freezing temperatures, Summit County is pretty gorgeous. The water in the background is the Dillon Reservoir, which is always a welcome view when driving by on the way up to Vail. I'm skiing at Heavenly and Kirkwood this week, and having a fabulous time, but somehow Vail will always feel like my home mountain. If you ski or snowboard, spend a day on the back side and I'm sure you'll say the same.

Truth

Everything has been all about spring lately, but Denver just received a fresh coat of snow. Weather patterns as they are here, it should be gone in a day or two, but I can't wait for some warmer weather. Luckily, I'm off on a quick trip to Los Angeles today! Neon Indian

We took these photos after a quick stop at the Silverthorne Outlets on the way down the mountain last weekend. It looks like it's going to be another snowy one, which is great because I have a couple friends in from out of town, and Colorado needs to put on her best face for them. Bring on the snow! It's already blanketing Denver as I write this.

This Heart's On Fire

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, or at least one of my favorite holidays to dress for. Mixing as many shades of pink and red together as possible in one outfit is never not fun. I started the theme a bit yesterday with my oxblood skirt, but expect more the rest of the week! 

And wish me luck making reservations! I picked the tiniest restaurant ever, which is closed on Mondays, and has no online reservation system. But it's so good! How are you celebrating?

Sparkles & Snow

These are from just before heading out of Vail on a freezing cold January 1st. I added a scarf and turned up the heat in the car to the highest possible setting for the trip down the mountain. All I can say is, hooray for snow boots!

It's a Wonderful Life!

 After some last minute shopping, baking, and packing, the weekend is finally here. Later today, I'm picking up a special someone from the airport whom I can't wait to see, and then tomorrow I'm off to Christmas with the family. Life certainly is wonderful at the moment! Snow, Snow, Snow

 I spent the night at a friend's cabin in the mountains on Saturday night, and awoke to a gorgeous layer of powder on Sunday. I only wish I had had my skis with me.
