The Vanity of Duluoz

It's a casual Friday today, in the middle of a vacant football field in Wisconsin. Cartwheels seemed only appropriate.

Heavy Lifting

Giant white silk shirts are far too effortless and easy to wear not to love. And cutouts on heels? Genius.

Blacking Out The Friction

I love scarves, and pulling out all my favorite layers for fall. I think I've had this jacket for eight years now, and I still love it just as much as I did when I got it. Those are the best kind of purchases.

Diesel jacket (similar), American Apparel hoodie, Urban Outfitters shirt and scarf, Current/Elliott legging jean, Isabel Marant Jenny boots, and the Louis Vuitton.

So Come On, Come On

The leaves are already changing here in Wisconsin, and I definitely don't leave home without a jacket, especially at night. This sweater was enough by itself, though. Hoods make everything better.

Ancient Eileen Fisher sweater, Theory skirt (similar J. Crew), DKNY tights, Tory Burch wedges, Louis Vuitton bag, jewelry from Security Jewelers

Dye It Blonde

The briskness of autumn in the Midwest is one of my favorite things ever. Cool air, warm drinks, and light layers are so much more fun than the single layers of summer sometimes.

Banana Republic hat, Nordstrom scarf, Mike & Chris leather jacket, American Apparel thermal, J Brand jeans, Isabel Marant Dicker boots, Louis Vuitton Speedy.

Pay It Forward

I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for the Liebster Award by both Amiee Sanchez of Double C - Casual & Chic, and Neilly of Aux Caprices de Flore. Thank you both!

The Rules:
1. Write 11 things about yourself.
2. Answer the 11 questions your tagger asks you.
3. Nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers & tag them in your post.
4. Make up 11 new question for the bloggers you nominated & tell them.
5. No tag backs.

I received this award twice before already, and responded here, so I'm going to defer to that "about me" section.

Questions from Aimee:
1. What was your best halloween costume?         Probably my Black Swan last year.

2. Skirts or pants? Why?         Generally pants. It's cold in the north, and in the mountains!
3. What is the one makeup product you can't live without?          Mascara, specifically "Le 2 de Guerlain" in noir.
4. What is your favorite accessory?            Hats are so underrated.
5. What is you favorite book? or movie?            It's a toss up between The Great Gatsby and On the Road, though I might prefer Kerouac's Maggie Cassidy, really. I'm anxiously awaiting the movie releases of both the former.
6. What is on your bedside table?         Books, a reading light, and a clock.
7. Are you a morning or night person?        I'm so much better at night.
8. If you had a lot of money, where would you go on vacation?         The world, mostly. There are far too many places to name.
9. How many pairs of shoes do you own?         I prefer not to count these types of things.
10. Are you spontaneous or do you always need to have a plan?          Pretty spontaneous. This gets expensive, especially with plane tickets.
11. What is the most expensive single item you've ever bought?          Potentially my Chanel pumps.

Queen of the Skies
Questions from Neilly
1. Green or not? (Save the planet!)          Save the planet, for sure.
2. What genre of music do you like?         Indie/folksy with some electronica. Among other things.
3. What is your favorite meal?         Breakfast, probably because I rarely eat it.
4. Have you ever travel in a foreign country? If yes, where?        Yes, I've been to England, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
5. Where do you leave?         I'm assuming live? Denver, Colorado.
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?         These things are far too difficult to predict.
7. Tell one dream or something you will like to realize in 6 months.         Get an instrument ticket.
8. What is the extreme/excentric thing you have ever done?          Nothing stands out at the moment. Fly solo, maybe? But that happens all the time to people.
9. What is the most important thing in your life?         My family and friends are pretty important.
10. What is your biggest accomplishement? Or name something that you are proud.         I did pretty well in school.
11. What inspire you in life?         Great music, great literature, great style.

Fish Tailed

This past weekend I had the honor of modeling in a bridal show put on by Visuelle Productions, of Appleton, Wisconsin. The shows are always very fun, and very well done, and this one was no exception. If you're a bride in the Appleton area, I definitely recommend attending the next one! As part of the show, I also got my hair and make-up done. I absolutely loved my updo by Abracadabra Hair Salon, also of Appleton, Wisconsin. The fishtail was so on trend! Thank you, Sue Diehl of Visuelle, and Brenda Lee of Abracadabra!

A Million Years

You've probably heard of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, or at least their song "Home," but if you haven't yet, check out Alexander, the solo project of lead singer Alexander Ebert. His album isn't new, but still makes its way to the top of my playlist quite frequently. "A Million Years" seemed the most fitting title for this sunny-day-last-week photo shoot, with its up-beat tempo and generally bright flavor.

Rag & Bone top, Current/Elliott leopard stiletto, Isabel Marant Dicker boots, Urban Outfitters sunglasses (similar), and bracelets by Prada and a random Costa Rican shop in Tamarindo. Stingray kind of rocks.

Ne Me Quitte Pas

I've been glamming up my corner of the midwest lately with cowboy-esq boots and perfectly ombred plaid. Isabel Marant + the Olsen Twins makes everything better.

Elizabeth & James Fairfax sunglasses and Amber shirt, Current/Elliott legging jean, Isabel Marant Jenny boot, Raymond Weil watch, Balenciaga bag.

Bring The Buckets By The Dozens

I spent a rainy few hours in the Twin Cities last week, half of which were at Nordstrom, at a Jimmy Choo shoe event complete with delightful finger foods and drinks, and the best salesperson ever. Julie Berg always finds the best shoes for me, and knows exactly what I'm looking for. She actually found these boots for me, amid the mass exodus during the Anniversary Sale. She's amazing! Thank you, Julie.

Braving the rain in an American Apparel hoodie, June leather vest (similar Topshop), Theory tee, Current/Elliott mustard denim, Sam Edelman Petty bootie, and my Balenciaga.
