Frozen Lake

Even entirely frozen, Lake Calhoun is still one of my favorite places in Minneapolis. This trip to the Twin Cities was entirely too short, but it was great seeing the few friends I was able to meet up with. I'm on my way to warmer weather today though. Scottsdale, here I come!

Céline sunglasses, Leroy & Perry sweater (similar American Apparel), Hanes tank, Rag & Bone coated denim, Isabel Marant Jenny boots.

Minnesota Girls

Unfortunately, I haven't been in Minnesota in quite awhile now, but something about this outfit feels very reminiscent of those winter days on campus, rushing to and fro across the Mississippi River with more books than anyone should carry at once. J. Crew and college co-eds go so well together.

Or maybe it's just my recent obsession with Communist Daughter, and this song.

J. Crew coat (similar) and sweater (similar), Vince tank, J Brand jeans, Isabel Marant boots, Ray-Ban aviators, vintage pearls, Balenciaga bag.

Happy Halloween! Love, Cinderella

Playing a princess made for a fabulous Halloween weekend with the best of friends. I love putting my costume together rather than buying it, as it makes getting ready for Halloween a scavenger hunt of the best kind.

I thrifted the dress from Ragstock in Uptown Minneapolis, which always has the best collection of holiday-relevant clothing. The gloves are from Target, and the crown and wig came from various costume/Halloween shops in Denver. The bustle I made out of fabric and duct tape. Without a sewing machine handy, duct tape seemed the most useful alternative to hand sewing everything for one night of wear. The necklace is from J. Crew, and the "glass slippers" are BCBGMAXAZRIA flats from forever ago.

I hope you have or had a fabulous Halloween! What did you dress up as? I'd love to see your costumes! Post them on my facebook page!

Norma Jean

Please excuse the over-abundance of photos these last few posts. I had too much fun with Elizabeth Grube of LYZ Design as photographer and wanted to show off more of her work!

Wandering around in Uptown Minneapolis in Elizabeth & James sunnies, Vince leather jacket (similar), Monrow tee, J. Crew navy pixie pant and necklace, Minnetonka moccasins, and Balenciaga bag.

Thank you, Elizabeth Grube, for these fabulous photos! It definitely helps to have an artist's touch.

Art Incognito + LYZ Design

While in Minneapolis this past week I was fortunate enough to attend the Third Annual Art Incognito event put on by Free Arts Minnesota. Artists were asked to submit pieces to the event to raise money to assist in healing children through the arts. My dear friend Elizabeth Grube, of LYZ Design, submitted this gorgeous painting of the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis to the cause, which then brought in its maximum bid in the first hour of the auction. I can't say I was surprised.

A special thank you to Elizabeth Grube for the photos in this post!

Airport Autumn

I returned to Denver this past weekend, but still have a few posts from Minnesota to put up. This is one of them. I had an amazing trip, catching up with old friends, meeting some new ones, and spending time with my family. There's never enough time, but I had so much fun with everyone I got to see. Thank you! I also loved having a chance to re-explore the city I once called home, especially in all its autumnal glory. The colors are beautiful!

The Alexanders

No trip to Minneapolis is complete without a stop at the Mall of America. Clearly I was in a hurry to start shopping. Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.

Doubled Up

For a cold and precipitous day this past weekend, one layer of leather wasn't quite going to cut it. Two layers of leather, however, are a lot warmer than you might think. And mixing every neutral shade together in one outfit is probably one of my favorite things ever.

Mike & Chris leather jacket (similar), June leather vest (similar), Bailey 44 top (similar), Nordstrom scarf (similar), J. Crew pixie pant, Tory Burch flats, Louis Vuitton bag.

I'm off to Minneapolis today! I really should be packing.
