Maxed Out

For some reason, maxi dresses seem most appropriate for summer to me. While summer hasn't quite come to Denver yet, with our most recent snowfall earlier this week, it has certainly been warming up. When I saw Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere wearing this dress earlier this month, I immediately halted my search for the perfect black maxi dress, and bought it. As far as impulse buys go, this was definitely a good one. Have a fabulous weekend!

And Happy Birthday to a very dear friend of mine, and the gorgeous face behind LYZ design, Ms. Elizabeth Grube! I hope it's the best one yet.

Culver City Streetlights

While in LA last week I was fortunate enough to meet up with one of my best friends, Lizzie, the talent behind LYZ design, featured previously on the blog here, here, and here. Catching up with old friends always makes for the best nights.

Thanks for the photos, Lizzie!

A Valentine, by LYZ Design

My beautiful friend Elizabeth Grube, the artist behind LYZ Design, sent me the most fabulous home-made Valentine the other day, and I had to share it with you. She was kind enough to send me a photo of a few more of these delightful cards, too. I hope you love them as much as I do! Next year I'm definitely talking to her about Valentines.

Thank you, Elizabeth! Check out older posts featuring her amazing work here and here

Norma Jean

Please excuse the over-abundance of photos these last few posts. I had too much fun with Elizabeth Grube of LYZ Design as photographer and wanted to show off more of her work!

Thank you, Elizabeth Grube, for these fabulous photos! It definitely helps to have an artist's touch.

Art Incognito + LYZ Design

While in Minneapolis this past week I was fortunate enough to attend the Third Annual Art Incognito event put on by Free Arts Minnesota. Artists were asked to submit pieces to the event to raise money to assist in healing children through the arts. My dear friend Elizabeth Grube, of LYZ Design, submitted this gorgeous painting of the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis to the cause, which then brought in its maximum bid in the first hour of the auction. I can't say I was surprised.

A special thank you to Elizabeth Grube for the photos in this post!

Buy Art: LYZ Design

My dear friend and bff since middle school has many talents, one of which is painting. The fabulous piece you see in these pictures arrived at my apartment in the midst of a downpour of the most depressing sort, but the palm trees and sunshine immediately overpowered the crying window it was leaning against. That's Lizzie. She makes you smile, no matter what. And I love her for it. Thank you, Ms. Elizabeth Grube, for this bit of LA now proudly living in my place!

Check out LYZ Design here. It makes me wish I had more wall space!

Also, pink pants are necessary for life.
