Casual Friday

I've been running around like crazy all week, and still have so much to do. I'm moving to Phoenix next week, and so have been getting my car serviced, packing, buying boxes and more boxes, squeezing in last minute appointments, and generally finalizing all those details necessary for a move. My apartment is slowly being taken over by a growing pile of boxes filled mostly with shoes, clothes, and books, so far, and there's still a lot more where that came from. Packing up the kitchen is the worst part, I think. Everything is so fragile! I'll be taking a break from packing this weekend to celebrate my birthday and say goodbye to my friends on Saturday night, though I'll likely spend most of my actual birthday (on Monday) still packing. Anyone want to help? Have a great weekend!

Coco Before Chanel

The other night I stayed up way too late watching Coco Before Chanel, which was definitely worth the tired eyes the next day. While the movie was sad at times, it was also very educational in terms of Mlle. Chanel's unique vision, and excellently showcased the stark contrast between the fashions of the day and those she produced. In other words, I loved it. Thus, the simplicity of this look. No one does black and white better than Coco Chanel.

Hooray for turquoise walls, white outfits, and sandals that I didn't know were on sale until I went to pay for them. And summer, of course. Have a great Tuesday!

Maxed Out

For some reason, maxi dresses seem most appropriate for summer to me. While summer hasn't quite come to Denver yet, with our most recent snowfall earlier this week, it has certainly been warming up. When I saw Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere wearing this dress earlier this month, I immediately halted my search for the perfect black maxi dress, and bought it. As far as impulse buys go, this was definitely a good one. Have a fabulous weekend!

Rainy Day Whites

 Last week, before the snow blanketed this city in white, there was rain. Taking photographs while the drops were starting to fall was certainly not ideal, especially with straight hair and a white sweatshirt, but I wanted to share them with you anyway. Mostly because this sweatshirt is by far my favorite of the moment, and is sure to be a summer staple. With these gorgeous embellishments, you don't need much else.

My Heart To Boston

 Yesterday was a strong reminder that there are much worse things in this world than snow in April. My heart goes out to you, Boston, and everyone affected by the tragedy yesterday.

Goodbye Sky Harbor

I spent far too long in Sky Harbor International Airport last weekend, though the awesome restaurants in Terminal 4 made the wait slightly more bearable. This outfit was the only thing that made sense. I can't wait to get back to that blue blue sky though, and that fiery summer heat.
