The End of an Era

 The beginning of August brought with it the end of summer for me this year. I am returning to school next week, and unfortunately, am therefore ending the regularly scheduled daily posts on this blog. I have loved every minute I have spent on The Champagne & The Stars in the past year, and will certainly continue to post as much as possible, but school takes precedent. My love of fashion, and the blogging community, will never wane though, so you can rest assured that I'll still be around, commenting and posting when I can. Thank you, thank you, for all of your kind words and support. I couldn't have done it without you! See you again, soon.

Turtlenecks have such a bad name. It's unfortunate, really, as they make so much sense in those colder climates. Either way, they were beatnik approved, and The Glamourai's recent beat-inspired installment  had me dressing like one. Minus the accessories, of course.

Denver has been unseasonably warm as of late, which seems to be the case throughout the country. As a result, I'm enjoying bare legs while I still can.

Where the Buffalo Roam

I'm homeward bound today, along with the masses on the busiest travel day of the year, and I cannot wait to get there. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season makes it my favorite time of year, and this is bound to be a good one. I am a little disappointed that it's still so warm in Wisconsin, though. There's just something about the bitter cold that brings people together. And I really want to wear my winter coats!

A Dozen Paces

The versatility of sweater dresses is one of my favorite things about them. This one in particular easily lends itself to both dressy and casual looks. And some days, dressing up just sounds like more fun. Have a fabulous weekend!

Wisconsin, Revisited

These photos are from a chilly evening in Wisconsin earlier this autumn, but with the snow on the ground in Denver right now I thought they were perfect. This is exactly the type of outfit I love on a chilly, snowy day. Though I'd likely rethink the footwear. 

My friends and I are still trying to finalize our Halloween plans, and my costume isn't quite finished, but I've got high hopes it will all work out. These things tend to, really. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I've been really into The XX lately. And while I really like their new album, there's just something about revisiting their self-titled 2009 release that makes perfect sense right now. "VCR" has generally been on repeat the last few days, both on my ipod and in my head. Check it out.

Tree of Life

Buffalo plaid has always been one of my favorites, and this shirt was too perfect to pass up. Paired with torn up jeans and my favorite moccasins, it contributed to the ideal weekend getup. My weekend was pretty low key, so comfort was the biggest factor in getting dressed, and this outfit definitely fit the bill. How was your weekend?
