Snow, Snow, Snow

I spent the night at a friend's cabin in the mountains on Saturday night, and awoke to a gorgeous layer of powder on Sunday. I only wish I had had my skis with me.

Bigger Than Love

Benjamin Gibbard, lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, has long held a special place in my heart, especially around the holiday season. I spent an entire December finals period listening to the thirty minute All-Time Quarterback album on repeat. Needless to say, I heard that side-project at least 40 times in that two week period.

Former Lives, Gibbard's first solo album, was released in October of this year. I meant to download it immediately, but life got in the way, as it tends to, and I forgot about it. Until last night. So now it's on repeat, the way I always listen to albums--straight through. And "Bigger Than Love" is pretty great.

Beat

Turtlenecks have such a bad name. It's unfortunate, really, as they make so much sense in those colder climates. Either way, they were beatnik approved, and The Glamourai's recent beat-inspired installment  had me dressing like one. Minus the accessories, of course.

Real Straight Talk

I've recently become obsessed with the idea of blue suede pumps. After searching through my usual suspects, including J. Crew and Nordstrom, I came across this pair. They were still full price at the time though, and I already had them in black leather. I'm certainly not opposed to buying more than one color of something I love, but paying a large amount for what would likely fall out of use much sooner than its more classic counterpart seemed silly. But then the shoes went on sale, and directly into my wardrobe. Their complimentary qualities when paired with gold brocade only gave them bonus points.

Rigged & Ready

It just made sense to pair torn up jeans with a torn up sweater. It all feels cozier that way, somehow.
